Teachers 2025

NEREA & MIGUEL

Nerea and Miguel met in 2018 in Málaga.

Their passion for swing dancing and their commitment to spreading and promoting it led them to dance and work together. Since then, they have been training and teaching swing, performing at events and shows, as well as attending and competing in festivals.

They have traveled across Spain, Europe, and the U.S. to learn from the teachers who inspire them the most, to grow as dancers, and to share the essence of this dance in the Galician and Portuguese scenes—and anywhere else the opportunity arises!

They currently live in Vigo and offer regular classes in this city, as well as in Vilagarcía de Arousa and A Coruña.

Their class will be focused on transitions between shag, balboa and even lindy hop. This opens up countless possibilities, based on solid technique and musicality. You must know the basics of those dances to enjoy the class, therefore we recommend you to assist to the friday classes and train at the parties. As always, we encourage you to experiment with changing roles (leader/follower) if you feel confident enough.

PALOMA & JORGE

Paloma and Jorge have been immersed in the world of balboa since 2018.

For them, dance is a conversation between partners, where music and movement take the place of words. They believe that social dancing is essential and that the most important thing is to create «in the present,» enjoying every shared moment.

They participate in numerous national and international festivals, being a very active part of the balboa community. At the same time, they continue their training by attending workshops to absorb different perspectives on dance from the dancers who inspire them.

They continue to build their own approach day by day, which they share in their regular classes in Valencia, Castellón, and Dénia, as well as in special events where they teach workshops.

Their teaching focuses on partner connection, creativity, and the very essence of this dance.

VERÒNICA & GUILLE

Verònica Juan (Alicante) and Guillermo Valero (Valencia) are dancing Collegiate Shag together since the day they met in 2018. They also founded the band The Shag Sharks which was created especially for dancers. They combine music and dancing as a daily basis.

Shag Moves will be a multilevel class. We will start from the basics but we will add style and different techniques for those who already know how to dance Collegiate Shag. Moreover, if you feel confident enough in your collegiate shag basics, we encourage you to try the class in a different rol (leader or follower).

VERÒNICA

Verònica has a classical ballet background but she has being educated in many different styles such as contemporary, swing dances, urban styles, and one of her favourites, African and Afro dance styles. She has been dancing and teaching African rhythms for more than ten years, getting to be trainned in Senegal and Gambia.

Music and dance have been fundamental pillars of Jamaica’s cultural expression. From the African rhythms brought by the enslaved to the evolution of ska, rocksteady, and reggae, the island has been a cradle of sounds that have influenced the world.

Exploring new movements and grooves will always spice up your swing dancing!
